I just read through the story of a few days ago and wow! what a scary time. So glad Lance is doing well and I hope you can amend the arena footing to counteract the sand. I think you have to look there first as the schooling takes a toll even in the best footing. After my tendon scare, I WALK Nick through any areas of sand, and he actually looks for packed sand.
