Off to another hill (catch-up, part 2)

Our first excursion after my truck was finally fixed was on October 9 to Chehalem Ridge Nature Park. If we could fly like crows it's not that far, but it took a good hour's drive to get there and meet up with the 'mustang gang' we've been riding with. It was the first visit to this beautiful new park that just opened three years ago for all of us, and it was most enjoyable – great trailer parking, good trails, and some stunning views. And like Bob & Crystal Rilee Park, free!
No, we didn't see any cougars (click to biggify).

The following photos were taken of us, not by me. We all take photos and share. I'm so glad to have connected with these ladies! 😊

The joys of riding are great and I am so happy that you are able to do that with Stella. Here we will be going out later this morning and will be joined by our daughter in law on her horse. Just riding around the Ranch where we keep the horses, but enough to give us a thrill and sense of accomplishment..

So nice to be able to share a love of horses and riding with your DIL! Since my guys were never that interested in trail-riding (or dressage!) and now no longer have horses, I mostly ride by myself. And I'm fine with that, but it has been so fun to find this group of mustang owners with whom to ride farther afield!

Gosh, your trails are gorgeous. And what a great group to ride with! We have decent forests, but not nearly that kind of terrain, nor the views.

Jen, this IS such a beautiful part of the country. We're ~50 miles from so many wonderful destinations – Mt. Hood and the Cascades, the Oregon Coast, the mighty Columbia River with its many scenic attractions. It's been a long time since I've hauled as much as I have this summer, though; having people to ride with makes all the difference.

This looks like a beautiful ride for you and Stella with this new gang of friends :-) I love the Elder sculpture just out there in the field :-)
